RCF ART 7 FOR NOVI SAD’S NEW PICNIC RESTAURANT ON THE DANUBE

The Picnic Restaurant, located on the popular Ribarac on the banks of the Danube, has won over the hearts of Novi Sad residents in Northern Serbia in a very short space of time, and become one of the favorite places to dine and escape from the city bustle. To enhance the cozy ambience, delicious food and beautiful views, good music and a professional sound system were also a prerequisite.

In this regard, AVL Projekt, RCF’s territorial distributor, was contacted by the restaurant management to design and install a sound system whose performance would meet the needs of this restaurant both in the daytime and in the evening, especially for live gigs.

The sound system they conceived consisted of 2-way RCF M801 passive loudspeakers, evenly positioned and distributed around the room for the ambient sound, while RCF ART710-A MK4 digital active FiR DSP loudspeakers and RCF SUB 905 active subwoofers are placed on the stage and used for live music events.
“With the new RCF system, we are entirely relaxed. Whether it’s an ambient music, a live band playing popular music, or a theme night with pretty loud performers, we can handle it. And the sound is always pure and precise, yet warm.” Dragan Kapičić

The M801 is a versatile, 2-way full-range speaker system suitable for all kinds of installations, and characterised by compactness coupled with a sleek and unobtrusive design. With controlled dispersion, the M801 delivers constant and, when necessary, high SPLs across a wide frequency range.

The ART 710-A MK4 compression driver, with a specially designed dome and powerful voice coil provides a unique vocal clarity, while its 10" woofer delivers a linear response and precise low-frequency control. Its quality is evidenced by the Red Dot Design Award presented to RCF's ART 7 series in the Product Design category.

To optimise the speakers, the installed sound system is further boosted by several amplifiers and preamplifiers, an RCF E16 analog mixing console as well as a Xilica XA2040 digital DSP audio processor.

All the components are neatly housed in a rack, constructed and wired by AVL Projekt’s system integrators, and provided along with complete electrical wiring to power supply both amplifiers and active speakers.

Speaking of the installation Picnic Restaurant owner, Dragan Kapičić, said, “The restaurant is almost twice as big as before. We used to have 120 table seats, now the number is 220, which meant that with the existing sound system we couldn’t handle even the murmur of guests let alone organising even the smallest of gigs.  “Now, with the new RCF system, we are entirely relaxed. Whether it’s an ambient music, a live band playing popular music, or a theme night with pretty loud performers, we can handle it. And the sound is always pure and precise, yet warm.

“We are very happy with that.”
