RCF RDNet

Networked control and much more
RDNet is a robust management network and control platform for small, medium and large arena-sized sound systems, as well as complex and extended installations. Based on a proprietary network protocol, RDNet provides intuitive control and monitoring of every connected device/object in the RCF audio system. Each device has DSP to address specific presets or modifications of parameters to single or groups of objects. A network user can change level, delay, EQ (linear phase FiR as well) and other settings, including advanced subwoofer configurations. RDNet is not only designed for loudspeakers—you can control parameters and routing of multiple RCF devices, such as digital matrixes or amplifiers.

Active advantage

An active sound system means having the power amplifier on-board of the cabinet. This brings some advantages:
  • Reduced setup time
  • Daisy chain signal and power connection of the entire system or by groups
  • No additional amplifier rack(s), saving space in the truck
  • The sound quality and performance are optimized to the individual components inside the speaker
  • The RDNet Networked Control can monitor each component of the system

Top and electronics

The amplifier integrates a low-noise 32 bit DSP circuit, controlled through the RCF exclusive RDNet network to easily handle the soft clipping limiters, RMS limits, polarity, amplitude, timing and equalisation. All the settings, monitoring and advanced features are available inside the RDNet Networked Management software. The available control panel on the back adjusts input sensitivity, Low Cut, Xover, volume, bypass, delay and presets.

High performance hypervented

RCF manufactures these components to deliver the cleanest, punchiest, and undistorted low frequencies reproduction. The cone is composed of 30% carbon fibre, 20% fibreglass and 50% cellulose pulp. This particular chemical composition has been carefully developed to improve the robustness and rigidness of the cone avoiding any deformation that would result in a loss of efficiency. RCF engineers have developed the unique Hyper Ventilation system with very low power compression. The cone is water resistant.

Cabinet

The RCF TT+ cabinets are made of high-quality birch plywood with weatherproof treatments, 4 reinforced rubber feets, nylon side protection accessories and 6 handles. The back of the cabinet is provided with two steel bars for fork-lift transportation that preserves the cabinet from being scratched. The subs are stackable and light-weight, for easy set-up and tear down. The polyurea coating and the rugged structure of the cabinet survive long-term use and transportation and the separate Vibrostop housing for the amplifier guarantee the best components efficiency and reliability. The transportation is fast with the detachable Kart kit: a dolly caster-board with rugged tour grade casters and rotating cam mechanism.

The good flow

It’s common knowledge in fluid dynamics that the turbulent airflow is reduced with a smart design of the port.

The improved vented port is a proprietary solution that helps to achieve a good aerodynamic behaviour of the air (laminar), gaining efficiency and reducing distortion.
