RCF MYTHO 8 WINS RESOLUTION BEST MONITOR AWARD

RCF’s MYTHO 8 reference monitor has scored a major success in the renowned Resolution Awards 2012.
It was voted Best Monitor by readers of the magazine in a fiercely competitive category that also included Adam Audio’s A77X, SE Munro’s The Egg and Unity Audio’s The Boulder.
MYTHO 8 is a two-way reference studio monitor equipped with two separate AB amplifiers — 200W for the low frequencies and 100 W for the high. This is designed to give it unparalleled low distortion characteristics, and a natural sound. It also features a unique “Impedance Control Coil” technology that has as primary effect the improvement of the temporal behaviour of the speaker, improving the crossover transition from the woofer to the tweeter and resulting in incredible midrange accuracy and perfect phase linearity.
It also features a high quality large metal dome tweeter and 8” neodymium vented woofer with large 51 mm voice coil that guarantees very high energy for tight and controlled bass reproduction and perfect thermal stability with minimum power compression. The magnetic circuit features a special air ventilation to reduce air compression, air noises and minimise distortion in large excursion situations.
With a dedicated high quality onboard DSP also provided on board, this feature set has captured the imagination of medium to large control rooms.
According to Resolution editor Zen Schoepe, “The awards major on quality and innovation and winning products are therefore judged to be exceptional in these terms.”
The nominations themselves were drawn from a panel of industry experts and practitioners and were voted for by registered Resolution readers — described as “the best informed readership in the industry.”
