UKS Anilana Sports Hall bulks up with RCF speaker system

Recently, in Łódź City (Poland), under a public service contract with local government, the UKS Anilana Sports Hall was granted a new scoreboard and a complete modernized sound system upgrade to RCF— covering the playing field and the stands. The Hall is a facility with longstanding traditions, actively servicing the Łódź community for several decades. UKS “Anilana” refers to the tradition of “KS Anilana”, one of the most famous handball clubs in Poland, enjoying great popularity and winning awards during Olympic Games in the 1970s and 1980s. The capacity of the UKS Anilana Sports Hall is 22000 m3. The playing field area is 1200 m2 and can host up to 1,000 people seated in the stands. The surface of the sports field is covered with Taraflex flooring and meets the requirements of Handball Federation, Federation of professional Volleyball and Basketball.

The hall itself is a large volume building that has been in operation for several decades. Acoustically it is hard to manage due to reverberation, and the system design with the appropriate selection of equipment was a big challenge, demanding of an experienced integrator with technical know-how. TOMMEX, the official RCF install products distributor for Poland, was responsible for the design, supply, and commissioning of the sound system. Based on 30 years of experience, TOMMEX’s design team chose COMPACT M12 loudspeakers, ensuring optimal sound coverage of the whole area with even sound pressure level and high speech intelligibility factor. All speakers were powered by Ashly amplifiers and controlled by an external DSP processor in order to deliver premium sonic performance and optimal sound from the system.

The system will be used on a daily basis during sporting events, training, and competitions organized in the hall. The mobile stand of the sports commentator was equipped with a 16- channel analog mixer and a set of wired and wireless microphones from RCF— providing flexibility and ease of operation to all its users. The installed sound system delivers great sound quality and excellent speech reproduction, important for music, voice intelligibility and announcements throughout the entire building.
