RCF Arena hosts Una, Nessuna, Centomila with TT + series line-array systems

A few days after the inauguration of the RCF Arena, the sloping lawn of Reggio Emilia once again hosted 100,000 spectators for an event focused against gender violence. Over 60 artists and musicians took to the stage, amplified by the more than 400 line-array audio modules from RCF.

Shortly before the 2020 lockdown, Fiorella Mannoia, Giorgia, Laura Pausini, Gianna Nannini, Alessandra Amoroso, Elisa and Emma Marrone announced the concert event Una, Nessuna, Centomila (One, none, one hundred thousand), to raise funds to fight gender violence. On June 11 seven artists took the stage of the RCF Arena. As was initially expected, as many male colleagues joined the seven artists: Caparezza, Brunori Sas, Diodato, Sottotono, Tommaso Paradiso, Coez and Eros Ramazzotti.

We were particularly satisfied with the success of the event. A place like RCF Arena is spectacular, starting from the management of the public to the excellent acoustic and visual performance of the sloping lawn.

The event took place one week after the inauguration of the brand new RCF Arena, on June 4th 2022, with Luciano Ligabue. RCF Arena is the largest green area equipped for events in Europe and was built in the Reggio Emilia airport area. It allows a modular capacity from 10,000 to 100,000 people and bears the name of the largest Italian professional audio company. Clearly, RCF sound is the pride of the venue: RCF Arena is equipped with a total of 410 modern and newly designed loudspeakers and approximately 2 Megawatts of sound power available.

In addition to the performers on stage (each artist brought his own band) as if they were mini-concerts. Including the production staff involved, around 140 production personnel found plenty of space on stage. Six audio desks in the control room, all digitally interconnected, can change-over bands in less than 15 minutes. All engineers worked with the 408 RCF modules available in the arena coordinated by a digital matrix system. The system, from the TT+ Series, includes four line arrays arranged on both sides of the stage, each consisting of 21 modules of the new GTX system and an additional 10 TTL 55-A line arrays arranged on relative delay towers scattered over the area. For the system’s low end, 56 TTS 56-A double 21 subs were configured on the ground. On the stage, numerous TT + systems for monitoring and side-fill, available to productions that needed them.

"The RCF team was helpful and precise, we set up everything with extreme tranquility and with perfect coordination.”

Pierfrancesco Tempesta, sound engineer for Elisa and Emma Marrone and audio coordinator, commented on his experience at RCF Arena: "We were particularly satisfied with the success of the event. A place like RCF Arena is spectacular, starting from the management of the public to the excellent acoustic and visual performance of the sloping lawn. In such a complex context, with important Italian artists, numerous musicians and backliners moving on stage, and an impressive infrastructure like this, everything went smoothly. The RCF team was helpful and precise, we set up everything with extreme tranquility and with perfect coordination.”

Tempesta continues, "Regarding the new GTX system, the performance was unanimously approved. Even before any minor corrections to the various mixers in the room, the system was ready and sounding great. There was a common satisfaction at FOH while mixing the show with this new system. In my opinion, RCF has taken a significant step forward in systems for large events."

Regarding the new GTX system, the performance was unanimously approved.
