From bar to club - new RCF sound system at Exile in Cologne accompanies the change

The bar/club Exile in Cologne (Germany) is an institution in the city. The bar’s programme changes from theme nights with lots of music, also live, to disco or bar events. The PA system has to reflect all these different types. To offer the audience even better sound and perfectly tuned volume levels, the club decided on a new sound system from RCF. The German event technology service provider EVTmedia from Mendig was entrusted with implementing the new installation of RCF components.

The heritage sound system was getting on in years at the Exile location and was no longer up to the additional tasks. In concrete terms, several RCF 8-inch two-way loudspeakers of the Business Music C series from the installed sound product portfolio and additional RCF ceiling speakers provide more sonority. RCF Subs 702 AS II and S 10 were used for more pressure and optimal set-up in the location. The complete system consists of a mixture of active and passive components that interact perfectly acoustically. Controlling is done by RCF’s own tool RDNet.

The Exile has evolved over the years from a bar to a more club-oriented venue. The new sound system had to reflect that.

Felix Schlimm of EVTmedia comments on the use of the RCF units as follows: “The Exile has evolved over the years from a bar to a more club-oriented venue. The new sound system had to reflect that. We have had nothing but positive experiences with RCF as a distributor and, of course, with the products. As in other installations, we were convinced by the easy handling, the discreet design and the robust quality - especially important when installing them in a compact location like the Exile.”

EVTmedia does not only use RCF audio systems for events and installations. The company also sells RCF products, which can be demonstrated to customers in the company’s soon-to-be-opened store in Mendig.
