ESL invest further in RCF TT+ Technology
Essex-based Event Sound & Light Ltd (ESL) has expanded its fleet of premium RCF TT+ line array components after investing in further TTL33-A compact active three-way enclosures and TTS28-A active 2 x 18” bass reflex subwoofers.
This takes the company’s line array capability up to 24 TTL33-A (or two 12-element hangs) and 12 TTS28-A subs — with active 2-way TT25-A’s providing front fills.
Formed in July 2003 following a merger of two local companies, ESL has been specialising in sales, hire and installation ever since. But according to director, Paul Galley, the key part of the business is production and the touring/live events industry.
The pooling of the two companies’ respective inventories covered the immediate requirements at the outset but they soon started standardising on key components and increasing stock.
“We had some RCF ART products and the smaller Monitor 55’s — but then following extensive research invested heavily in the RCF TT25-SMA powered wedges, purchasing 16 monitors, as we did not have a standard monitor setup in place,” continued Paul. Alongside this investment in 2008, they expanded their stock of the TT range and bought their first TT33-A line array — thereby gaining the TT dealership. This provided another string to their bow in both sales and rental, with further RCF Art boxes helping to boost their lucrative dry hire trade.
“Our latest TT+ investment was in order to keep pace with demand and enable us to cover the ever increasing workload,” Paul Galley explained. “We have invested in such a way that we can have one large system or multiples of smaller systems out at the same time. One key element was to invest in different size flying frames that are available for both ground stacking and hanging.“
Being asked to provide complete event production on an accelerating scale has enabled the company to utilise the RCF’s TT+ products where customers may not have already been familiar with it.
“I like the TT’s dynamic range and good clear coverage and also the ‘plug and play’ design,” continued the ESL man. “Being self powered each element in the system is perfectly matched, which results in superb sound quality. It is easy and quick to set up and sounds good out of the box.”
And with so much other TT+ equipment already in the marketplace ESL know they can keep up supply and consistency with their customers on a sub-rent basis. The exceptional back up and support from Italy and the UK service centre has been another key reason for further investment.
ESL’s TT+ line array has been used extensively throughout the summer season on a range of live open air concerts, festivals as well as on dance events, where it is either ground-stacked on each corner of the dance floor or flown off the venue lighting rig, while the TT25-SMA wedges are constantly out on tour duty.
